Maternity Session at White Sands Buddhist Center

Expecting a baby is such a magical and fleeting time in a woman (and couple’s) life. 9 months of your life that is like no other time. It is the moment before it all changes.

After shooting their engagement and wedding, I was honored when Malorie and Anthony asked me to capture some cool shots while they wait for their son, Lennon, to be born.

I love to focus in on the main star of the session. ;)

Malorie and Anothony’s love and personal is so bright and beautiful.

I always strive for magic, but as an artist I believe in rolling with the tools, not forcing it. The true light will shine when you let it. And. Well.

Lens flares just make me happy.

The

[ connection + beauty ]

between

[ Mother + Mother Earth ]

can only be found in the artwork of

[ life + nature]

itself.

Sometimes a photo is just meant to be black and white.

It can say something bold or can elicit an emotion that sometimes color can’t convey.

It’s not always about the formalities. My goal is to bring out your inner spirit. Sometimes, I look back after a shoot and I’m like what the heck did I say? lol. When I am in the moment behind the lens its all hands on deck (and I’ll say some really stupid silly sh*t).

The goal is to direct and capture genuine candid moments.

If I’ve gotten you there then I’ve done my job, after that it’s all you.

And that…

that is the best.

The very first time I photographed Malorie and Anthony during their engagement session I had them sit on a bench. My memory escapes me on what I said to them to get them into this pose, but it became such a classic “M&A - pose” overnight that we had to recreate it with Lennon.

I had two remaining smoke bombs from my last maternity session and it just seemed meant -to-be to use them for Malorie since they were having a boy.

Plus - there’s just something so dang mystical about smoke bombs.

Thank you.
