[ c o c o n u t ] milk bath session with Sophia

Trick or treat, we got cuteness you can’t beat.

This milk bath / first birthday session was one of my favorite sessions to stylize!

Ashley (aka momma to Sophia) and I must have been talking about this shoot for months!! We worked together on coordinating styles, outfits, colors, and what props would work best for the total vision.

pumpkins and sunflowers never looked cuter <3

Of course we had to have momma come in for a few!

& grandpa!

For this shoot we used coconut milk!
Why coconut instead of whole milk you ask?

Well, several reasons…

Coconut milk photographs super well!
It’s pure white, creamy color creates a delicate accent to any milk bath scene.
It doesn’t have to be refrigerated so we didn’t have to balance the milk being too cold for the little one, or risk it going rancid from being left out to come to room temp or warmer.
It’s lactose-intolerant.
It smells good.
It tastes good.

Lastly, in my opinion…
Coconut milk, (or any non-dairy milk) is overall just better than cow’s milk in every sense of the word
(provided no one has any allergies to it).

Happy Birthday Sophia!
